At 11:30 on April 30, the Long March 11 carrier rocket lifted off the Jilin-1 Gaofen series satellites in the southern waters of the Yellow Sea in our country in the form of “one arrow and five stars”, and then the satellites were successfully sent into the predetermined orbit. The launch was a complete success.

This is the first time that our country has achieved a “one-stop” launch of a carrier rocket at sea, that is, the integration of final assembly, general testing, port departure, and launch.

The Long March 11 carrier rocket was developed by the First Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. It is mainly used for sun-synchronous orbit and low-Earth orbit payload launch missions, and supports single-satellite launch, multi-satellite launch, constellation rapid networking and supplementary network launch.
Up to now, the Long March 11 carrier rocket has carried out a total of 13 launch missions, including 10 land launches and 3 sea launches, sending a total of 58 satellites into space. There will also be 1 to 3 sea launches planned this year, including low-inclination circular orbits and sun-synchronous orbits.

In this mission, the Long March 11 carrier rocket completed the final assembly and test at the YIYI Solid Launch Vehicle Industrial Base, and was then transferred to the port launch vessel to complete the launch preparation and go to sea to perform the mission. It can shorten the mission cycle by one-third, and reduce transportation costs and possible risks during the transportation process, laying a solid foundation for subsequent high-frequency and batch launches at sea.
In this mission, the Long March 11 carrier rocket has carried out a number of technical improvements represented by the replacement of the new servo mechanism at the first stage, which improved the test coverage and maintainability of the rocket, and made the launch operation simpler. The launch ship has a range of more than 550 kilometers, which further expands the maneuvering range of Haishe and improves mission adaptability.

The Jilin-1 Gaofen-03D04-07 and Gaofen-04A satellites contain 5 satellites in total. They are optical remote sensing technology satellites funded and developed by Changguang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. and are mainly used to obtain high-resolution visible light push-broom images and video images. After the five satellites are networked with the in-orbit Jilin-1 satellite, they will provide users in industries such as forestry, agriculture, grassland, ocean, resources, environment, and urban construction with more abundant remote sensing data and product services.
This launch is the 418th launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
